Some of the key objectives of the exhibition are to help businesses achieve profitable growth by increasing productivity through optimisation, helping companies achieve the Industry 4.0 standard.

Industry 4.0 is a name for the current trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies. It includes cyber-physical systems, the Internet of things, cloud computing and cognitive computing.

The term “Industrie 4.0” originates from Germany and promotes promotes the computerisation of manufacturing.

Computerisation of manufacturing

The benefits of applying this type of standard to the textile industry include:

  • Less manpower
  • Increased efficiency
  • Flexibility
  • Automation
  • Improved competitiveness
  • Mass customisation

Instead of a one-off cost, working towards industry 4.0 should be seen as a long-term “step by step” process. The investment would lead to increase competitiveness in a challenging and ever-changing environment. The services and solutions on offer at the Shanghai Tex event 2017 can help businesses adapt and find their own pace to Industry 4.0.
